I finally spoke with the groups manager. My travel agent tracked her down after we were not getting any responses that we understood from Jenny. I thought maybe it was just me, but if she hears it from so many people maybe they'll do something about their communication (or lack of).

Any idea if there is a cost for guests who stay at the Palma Real or Melia Caribe to attend a wedding at PPC? I will likely have guests who want to stay at those other resorts for price/preference reasons ... and since they are owned by the same company, I'm hoping it won't be a huge deal for them to attend our wedding at PPC...

I believe the cost is $ 60.00 per person for anyone not staying
at the Paradisus Punta Cana.

After about 100 failed attempts of getting a reply from Jenny at the PPC, I emailed Kelly Hunt at the Paradisus Palma Real (the wedding coordinator there). Guess what....she got back to me immediately!! She forwarded my concerns to Jenny and Jenny immediately replied back, though still without addressing my questions or concerns. I emailed Jenny yet again, and four days later-- still no reply. I think if more people email Kelly at the PPR with our complaints, she'll get the information passed on to the right people. We're just wishin' now that we'd gone with the Palma Real instead!!

Kelly Hunt's email: bodas.paradisus.palma.real@solmelia.com

Hi Ladies,

I called the resort yesterday and spoke with Yadilis. She said that Jenny is now that contact, but she will be assisting her for the weddings. She also let me know that if they need any information before we get there then they will ask us. Otherwise everything else can be booked upon arrival at the resort. She reassured me that everything is on track and it will work out. I know how all of you feel, my wedding is on one month and I feel that I don't know a whole lot. But everything that involves other people have been booked (photographer, videographer, trio band, horse & carriage). I have been told that everything else like location, cake, decorations etc. can wait till my arrival. I will be sure to post everything upon my return so hopefully it can ease some minds. I was worried until i called the resort and now my mind is at ease. Life always works out the way it is suppose to. Good luck to everyone.

Are you putting down deposits or full payments up front for the photographer, trio band, etc?

So I spoke with yet another new person today, Laikin.
She is the new wedding planner. Jenny is her assistant. She seemed pretty nice so I hope things go smoother now.

Let me start by saying this forum is great! We are planning our wedding in April 2008 at the Paradisus. Wondering if anybody is talking to an outside wedding planner?? or just talking directly to the resort (Jenny)?? It sounds like responses are slow...any suggestions on how to get responses back faster (phone vs email, etc....)?

I have been booked at the PPC for a month, finally got a confirmation for the wedding date 2 days ago. I too was dealing with Jenny and was having a terrible time getting responses from her. My confirmation finally came from Laikin and, let me tell ya, what a difference it has been. My e-mails get answered within
2 hours ( so far ) and I've finalized more things today than I have in the last month. YIPEE !!!!

My travel agent has spoken with whomever is the Supervisor for wedding plans at PPC I have only emailed Jenny, but my TA says she spoke with someone above Jenny). My TA just called today to say that they are not confirming dates until May because the Judge will not open up his books until then. Has anyone else received the same information? (Initially the lady told my TA September, but I told her that sounded crazy since I know other Punta Cana area weddings are already confirmed for 2008.) I wonder if the resort is simply confirming availability or if anyone really has a confirmation for the judge? It's a bit confusing ... and makes it difficult to start planning.

We just returned from Punta Cana, and met up with a very dear friend of ours. She has just started at Paradisus as the "Romance Manager", and is the new one in charge of the wedding planning. She has been doing this for a number of years at other resorts such as the Iberostar's, and Bahia Principe. She started on March 19th and said there are so many weddings planned she does not even know how long it will be before she has time off to go and visit her family. If it helps any, you can direct your e-mails to her attention. Her name is Laikin Ng, and she is a Dominican native.

I have seen her work, and would not hesitate for a moment to have her plan a wedding! ;)

Well Ladies I am off in two more sleeps and I am so excited I probably won't sleep. Everything with the cooridnator seems to be going really smoothly now and hopefully everything works out, which i am sure it will. Thanks to all the forum brides, this site helps out a lot. I will be getting married on the 13th and we are returning on the 18th, so I will post my review and pictures and hopefully ease some of your minds about all the changes of the wedding coordinators. see you ladies.

Hello Ladies,

Well I am back from my wedding at the Paradisus Punta Cana and everything was absolutely wonderful. Laikin made sure that everything was just perfect and then some more. The only thing that I did not get that I asked for was the horse and carriage and that was because the horse was sick and well, I couldn't complain it was out of there control. Laikin did so many little wonderful things that I didn't even expect. We had our ceremony in a private area by the conference center and then we had dinner at El Romantico. The Dinner was one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. And then we danced the night away in the bar lobby. I was nervoud going there but I could not have done anything better myself. If anyone has questions about any specifics just e-mail me and I would be happy to help. kitrinal@telus.net.

HI-
I am getting married at the Paradisus Punta Cana on December 7. We just started planning all the details. So far Laikin has been very helpful but it is hard to make all these decisions by email without any pictures or any information. We would like to have the ceremony on the beach and the reception either on the beach or at the Seafood restaurant, which I think is right on the beach. Did you have one of the wedding packages, i.e Chill-Out Chic? I think we are going to do that one but I dont know how to decide on all the other details like the flowers, decorations and the food. What did you have included in your wedding? Did you do the photography and video package?
Any info you can give me will be helpful. Thanks!!

I am getting married there in 3 weeks with ceremony & reception on the beach. I will be using their photographer but have not chosen my flowers yet. I plan on doing that down there after looking at pictures. I am having my rehersal dinner in the seafood restaurant. Once I am back I would be happy to answer any questions to help you.

HI- What decissions did you have to already make before you are going down there? Are you having a sit down dinner on the beach? Did you put any money down yet? When you get back I am going to have a ton of questions for you. I am trying to find out prices right now for everything but its not easy b/c I dont know what my options are for anything. All I know is that I want everything to be on the beach with a trio band a tropical flowers. Are you staying there for your honeymoon? We decided to fly to Jamaica after we are at the PPC for 7 nights. Good Luck!!

I have chosen my menus, I will be having a sit down dinner on the beach. I didn't have to put $$ down when I booked but I believe that you do now as quite a bit has changed with policy and menus. We will be having the caribean band for our music and bringing an i-pod for additional music.
